Senior Vice President and Managing Director, ProQuest East Asia

Boe Horton is Senior Vice President and Managing Director ProQuest East Asia, responsible for building business in the region and is based in Hong Kong. Prior to this role, Mr. Horton was the Senior Vice President of the Research Solutions Group of ProQuest which included Serials Solutions, RefWorks-COS, and the Dissertations businesses. In 2007 Mr. Horton served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives during the integration of ProQuest and CSA and successfully led the strategic integration of the two companies, as well as the strategic planning process.

He served as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of CSA prior to its merger with ProQuest Information and Learning. During his tenure, he was responsible for global sales, marketing, product development and the editorial operations. Mr. Horton joined CSA from sister company R.R. Bowker where he was the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager for the library division and before that he was the Senior Vice President for Global Sales at R.R. Bowker.

Mr. Horton's prior experience includes senior international sales management and General Manager roles over an 11 year period in Europe. He established and built international operations for software publishing companies and built global sales and distribution operations. He started his career in the software publishing industry in 1989 at Persoft Inc with a focus on international business development.

Mr. Horton is an active speaker at major conferences around the world including CALIS, CONCERT, ICSTI, IFLA, The Charleston Conference, ALA, Inforum and many others, speaking about trends and the application of information services and user behaviors. He holds an MBA from Kingston University in England and studied physics and mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison during his undergraduate education.
